Abstract:
Improving legal solutions and the specialization of competent authorities in combating domestic violence, over the past few years, are an important novelty in relation to this issue. The most important step in the fight against domestic violence was the adoption of the new Law on the Prevention of Domestic Violence, which began into force on 1 June 2017. Since the adoption, the new law has been the object of interest of the professional, and especially the general public, who expressed great expectations in terms of the results of the implementation of new legal solutions. In addition, the Law has caused great controversy, especially in the part of the professional public, in the sense of justifying certain solutions. Since it is very important what kind of results were given new legal solutions, after almost a year from the beginning of the implementation of this Law, the conclusions of success can be analyzed and carried out. The subject of this paper is precisely the presentation and analysis of statistical data on the results of the work of police, judiciary bodies and the Center for Social Work in the area of the city of Novi Sad.
